  70. This is a small, freely useable and distributable collection of batch
  71. files and other utility materials for users of the VENDINFO tools.

  73. Since this little collection will probably be updated rather frequently,
  74. it also provides a natural vehicle for distributing the most recent
  75. versions of the CATEGORY.INF file used by all VENDINFO tools, and other
  76. similar items.

  78. Also included are a number of batch files that extend the functionality
  79. available to the VendEdit user.  These functions may eventually reside
  80. inside VendEdit, but are -- at least for now -- provided as separate
  81. batch files that operate on the created VENDINFO.DIZ files.

  85.    ASP_CD.BAT   -- A batch file that automatically prepares the
  86.                    materials necessary for ASP Author Members to
  87.                    submit products for the ASP CD-ROM.  Applicable
  88.                    only if you're an ASP Author or Publisher Member.
  89.                    This batch file prepares: (1) a *.ASC file
  90.                    describing your product, and (2) a checklist to
  91.                    assist you in completing your submission.

  95.                    transmitting your VENDINFO file to the VENDINFO

  107.                    (off-line mail reader) upload script for transmitting
  108.                    your VENDINFO file to the VENDINFO Product Registry.

  110.                    information, just type RGY_TPCS (no arguments).

  112.    SDN_ID.BAT   -- A batch file that assists in preparing product
  113.                    submissions for the Software Distribution Network
  114.                    (SDN).  This batch file prepares: (1) an {SDA.ID}
  115.                    file requiring only a small amount of manual editing;
  116.                    (2) a distribution permission form to be printed,
  117.                    signed, and included; and (3) a checklist to assist
  118.                    you in completing your submission.

  120.    UPL_OZCS.BAT -- A batch file that automatically constructs OzCIS
  121.                    upload scripts from VENDINFO.DIZ information, to
  122.                    help authors automate their CompuServe uploads.

  124.                    information, just type UPL_OZCS (no arguments).

  126.    CATEGORY.INF -- The most recent available version of the product
  127.                    category hierarchy originated by Rob Rosenberger,
  128.                    and used by VendEdit, VendPrcs, and VendView to
  129.                    map category numbers into readable text and
  130.                    vice-versa.

  132.    DISTRIBS.ZIP -- A small PKZIP-compressed collection of *.DST files
  133.                    provided by distributors who offer a "fulfillment",
  134.                    or registration-fee-collection service, for shareware
  135.                    authors and publishers.  VendEdit can directly
  136.                    import this information into VENDINFO.DIZ files,
  137.                    allowing the author to easily provide accurate and
  138.                    current information about other distributors of
  139.                    registered versions.
